Even though these Selenite tumbles are called "red", they have more of an orange tone. One of these Selenite tumbles offered a crystal blessing and surprised me with its message of how to receive light. This just the day after a Golden Healer crystal showed us how to draw in light. Selenite vibrates to the number 8 and is the astrological Sign of Taurus. Selenite forms from evaporating salt water in land locked lakes or seas which are isolated from open oceans. It is not surprising to find ourselves resonating with this crystal as we also contain a large amount of saline solution. We need to handle Selenite gently as it is very soft (2 on the Moh's scale). It can be scratched with a fingernail. It is also important to be aware that if you are thinking or acting out negative thoughts, it is possible that sensitive Selenite will fracture or break. Selenite has a direct effect on the emotional body, bringing us in touch with our true 'spiritual feeling'. It can help to melt away exaggerated emotions and bring to light our true feelings. Selenite crystals which contain water bubbles are particularly effective in bringing erratic emotions under calm control. It is water soluble and will eventually dissolve if left in liquid. Selenite is like liquid light. Its striations are pathways for the illuminated substance of spirit. It strengthens, energizes and channels high frequency energy. It vibrates more on the spiritual level than on the physical, which is why it can bend, curl, turn red hot and back again before your eyes. Selenite shows us the flexibility of our nature and the strength of our decisions. We can see through to the depth and meaning to what is happening within our life. Selenite teaches us that all things are possible here on earth. Selenite's essence is that of which dreams and visions are made. Selenite is sometimes used to access past-lives, as well as future events or future lives (the future which is probable at this time if this life proceeds in the direction in which it is now going). We can activate this process by rubbing the crystal with our finger or thumb during meditation. When the meditative state is attained, the visual images will begin. Selenite provides for clarity of the mind, expanding our awareness and cutting through the veils of secrecy and unconscious assumptions. We can re-connect to our higher self and can help us to look within our physical bodies to find what needs healing.
